Is It Worth Visiting Railay Beach from Phuket for 1 Night? (Travel Tips & Transport Info)

I have a 5-day break and decided to fly to Thailand — my first visit since 2017. Since my flight arrives in Phuket early, I’m considering spending about 24 to 36 hours at Railay Beach (one night stay).

From what I’ve found, the speedboat from Phuket to Railay takes roughly one hour. I’m wondering whether it’s better to book the ticket in advance or buy it in person once I arrive.

Also, for such a short trip, is the journey worth it? I’m mainly looking to relax, enjoy the scenery, and go for a short hike before heading back.

    There’s no direct combined taxi + speedboat service from Phuket Airport all the way to Railay Beach.

    You’ll need to grab a taxi from the airport to Rassada Pier in Phuket first (it’s about a 40–50 minute drive depending on traffic). From there, you can catch a speedboat to Railay Beach.

    The boat ride takes roughly an hour, but it’s good to check the schedule ahead of time since not all boats run late in the afternoon.

    So yeah — it’s totally doable in a day, but just note you’ll need to arrange the taxi and boat separately.
