Chiang Khong is a riverside town in Chiang Rai Province, northern Thailand, located along the Mekong River on the border with Laos. It is best known as a gateway between Thailand and Huay Xai, Laos, connected by the Fourth Thai–Lao Friendship Bridge. Travelers often stop here when crossing between Thailand and Laos, while the town also offers Mekong River views, local markets, temples, and a quieter alternative to Chiang Rai city.
